Aren't R5 and DVD rip the same? Doesn't R5 stand for region 5 dvd rip?

could be, but R5 usually has lower sound quality
seems like their rip has no sound, so they rip and dub from a cam version

yes it does mean region 5 dvd rip which also comes with russian dub sound so that means an english sound has to be put in and the best one is wot they put on here its a ts quality sound better then cam in a week or so sombody will fix the sound

R5= DVD from a region 5 area, these DVD's have dubbed audio, there is NO english audio file on these DVD's because they are released in non english countries
Because they are often released before the english DVD they are ripped for VIDEO ONLY. And then completed by adding a TS/cam audiofile.

So... an R5 rip has the videoquality of a DVDrip with the audio of a TS.

In theory you COULD get an R5 rip with russian dubsound, then the audio would be the same as a DVDrip. But i doubt anyone would download that. It would be silly. A english movie, with russian sound and english subtitles. :D

it doesn't have to be a ts or cam sound just the best sound the uploader can get his hands on which in most cases is cam or ts cuz those are the earliest releases with english sound.

to sort out the audio problem, play in VLC and get out the equalizer and enable full bass and treble, this corrects the sound problem and it sounds really good after this

A: 4 - too much echoing, sometimes very hard to hear what is being said you would have to keep rewinding and playing in order to keep up with the story (explained by jillytimez1234 above)

This is the version that is released in Asia and Russia, to prevent the massive loss to piracy while waiting for the final version.

I think it gets mastered a final round, and then released as commercial DVD.

I know however, that there is minimal changes from the R5 to the final DVD.

These r5 dvds are not the final ones. They are released in Russia while the movie is still in cinemas, or soon after it stopped playing in cinemas. Final R5 DVDs have the main audio plus russian audio (or any other r5 country). The video is also good, but not edited as final DVD.
Jillytimez1234, if your theory was true, only English speaking countries would get English audio on dvd. But it isn't so. Most of R2 dvds have English audio (DTS or/and Dolby 5.1), and most of them have bonus audio tracks. Most people I know don't like synchronized movies (language other than the original one).

The Video is good an 8 maybe even 9. However the audio is crap. I'd give it a 5.

The audio is'nt that bad, it's a little muffled I'd give it a 6.5-7/10. Video 10/10.

try the noir one guys. ichecke both nd noir is way way way bettr. and from now dont download maxspeed rips. he/they copies movies from other uploaders nd with a little bit of encoding, increses da size and then he uploads as his own.
